Kaspersky has added call control functionality to the expanded version of Kaspersky Secure Mobility Management. The update enables corporate smartphones to warn employees about suspicious numbers or automatically block unwanted calls on Android devices.
When an incoming call arrives, Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Android checks the number’s reputation using both local offline databases and global online sources. The response then follows the organization’s defined policy: the application may show a warning or immediately route the call to busy signals.
Administrators can block specific categories of calls, create black and white lists, and assign different rules to employee groups. For example, advertising calls can be prohibited across the entire organization while remaining permitted for the commercial department in case a genuine client is hidden behind an offer.
The new capability is intended to reduce risks associated with telephone fraud and social engineering. Attackers often call employees to obtain confidential information or persuade them to transfer company funds. At the same time, the filtering reduces the volume of spam calls that particularly affect specialists who work with incoming communications daily.
Kaspersky Secure Mobility Management is designed to manage corporate mobile devices, applications, data, and security policies throughout their entire lifecycle.
