Atlassian published its October security bulletin on 20 October, recording 176 vulnerability entries across seven products: Jira, Confluence, Bamboo, Bitbucket, Crowd, and the Fisheye and Crucible pair.
The bulletin lists 162 high-severity entries and 14 critical entries. These 176 records do not represent 176 distinct flaws; identical identifiers appear in multiple products whenever they share the same third-party library, inflating the count.
All critical entries reside in third-party components rather than code written by Atlassian. The most severe is CVE-2026-65637 in the Coyote component of Apache Tomcat used by Confluence, which permits interception of connections between the server and clients accessing it.
Affected versions and fixes
Confluence Data Center versions 10.2.0–10.2.18, 9.2.0–9.2.25 and older branches are affected; fixes are available in 11.0.0, the recommended 10.2.19 LTS and 9.2.26 LTS.
Bamboo is corrected in 12.1.12 LTS or 10.2.24 LTS. Bitbucket Data Center receives fixes in 10.5.1, 10.2.8 LTS or 9.4.26 LTS. Jira Software and Jira Service Management are patched in 11.3.12 LTS or 10.3.26 LTS. All corrected versions apply to Data Center deployments.
Administrators are advised to compare the exact installed build against the complete corrected-version table rather than relying solely on the major version number. Products sharing the same library may require updates even without their own critical advisory, making product-by-product verification essential.
As of 22 October, no exploitation of the bulletin’s vulnerabilities had been reported. Atlassian rates the inherited exposure from third-party libraries as lower priority and reserves separate critical alerts for issues posing immediate risk, which explains why the 14 critical entries did not trigger additional standalone warnings.
